Which fruits & vegetables are most important to have Organic

I recently posted on the wonderfulness of organic produce, and have since been pointed to an article (thanks, Belle!) listing the best foods to choose organic due to the amounts of pesticides they absorb when produced commercially (non-organic). I've seen this list before and it's often an issue of thin skins for the fruits/berries, and generally heavy-duty pest control for the vegetables (I imagine that heartier produce need less spraying?). Also sourced is the CBC report on cancer.

MOST CONTAMINATED FRUITS
~ apples ~ pears ~ grapes ~ grapefruit ~ raspberries
~ peaches ~ strawberries ~ cherries ~ nectarines ~ oranges

MOST CONTAMINATED VEGETABLES
~ sweet corn ~ potatoes ~ celery ~ bell peppers
~ leaf lettuce and head lettuce ~ snow peas ~ spinach

LEAST CONTAMINATED CHOICES
~ artichokes ~ asparagus ~ avocados ~ beets
~ cranberries ~ eggplant ~ endives ~ leeks ~ onions
~ papaya ~ parsnips ~ pineapple ~ squash ~ zucchini

Just thought this was a beautiful photo... : )

Dear Fran,

I have read in St.Hildegarda's that actually leek is also considered as highly contaminated and easily absorbing toxins.

The others I totally agree with you/
